Every so often, a booking transcends the usual rhythms. It becomes a chapter — one you turn over in your mind long after it ends. This three-day FMTY to Bangkok was exactly that: a whirlwind of indulgence, exploration, connection… and a soft ache of "what if this is the last time?"
Over the past year, this particular suitor and I have woven quite the tapestry together — full of luxury hotels, laughter over late-night room service, shared glances across candlelit tables. But Bangkok? Bangkok was different. It was immersive, tender, thrilling. It was us at our best.
We stayed in a five-star hotel — the kind where everything smells like orchids and the sheets are pressed tighter than any of your worries. From there, it was sensory overload in the best way:
• Above Eleven for cocktails, skyline views, and the most decadent dessert platter I've ever laid eyes on.
• A bucket list dinner at The Dome, cinematic in every sense — think sweeping views, sparkling wine, and that feeling of being suspended in something truly special.
• Asiatique's Ferris wheel, slow and romantic, the city shimmering beneath us.
• VIP seats at a Muay Thai fight, all adrenaline and energy, a world away from our usual date nights.
• A playful visit to a fish spa, where we couldn't stop giggling as tiny fish nibbled at our feet — a sweet reminder that intimacy lives in the silly moments, too.
• An unforgettable evening at a ping pong show, where we sat together in awe of the sheer skill, strength, and control of the performers. From writing with their bodies to smoking cigarettes and performing magic tricks, it was performance art in its rawest, most unapologetic form — and we watched with deep respect for the craft and culture.
• We visited a local strip club, where the women danced, sang full karaoke numbers, and lit up the stage with personality and presence. We enjoyed their company and tipped generously, grateful for the warmth we were welcomed with.
• We bartered in busy markets, tasted unfamiliar street food, bought silly souvenirs, and soaked in the colour and chaos that only Bangkok delivers.
• And of course, we spent hours in IconSiam, where I was lovingly spoiled with birthday and anniversary gifts — thoughtful, indulgent, and unforgettable.
• We even found pockets of stillness — in quiet temples, in the hush of golden-lit streets, in soft morning silences wrapped in each other.
But as rich and exciting as our days were, the heart of the trip was in our private time. In the way we moved in sync. In the tenderness between the noise. In knowing how fleeting this bubble might be, and holding onto it a little tighter because of that.
This trip was bittersweet. His life is changing, and we're unsure when — or if — our paths will cross again. That made everything more vivid. More meaningful. More alive.
This is what an FMTY with me can be. It's luxury, yes. It's excitement. It's travel, indulgence, connection. But more than that — it's presence. It's having someone truly there with you, in it. Open-hearted. Open-minded. And all yours for the time we share.
Where we go next is up to you.
